Welcome to your proposal scavenger hunt Xinqing! Your friends and family from around the world have worked together to create a set of 30 clues, based on your life, that will lead to me asking you to marry me— but only if you’re clever enough to solve them!
Here’s how it works:
There are exactly 30 clues, split into 7 phases. Each phase has a cipher that looks like this:

Go to the (answer 1) which is on the (answer 2) and stand on top of it eating (answer 3).
To complete a phase you’ll need to crack the cipher, go to the specified location in Disney Land, and take a picture.
Each phase corresponds to both a time in your life AND a zone in Disney Land. They are as follows:

Phase 3: Xinqing at Oxford and McKinsey - Discoveryland
Phase 4 and 5: Xinqing in Nairobi - Adventure Land

Phase 7: Xinqing’s future - All of Disney
Once you’ve solved the first 6 ciphers you’ll receive a code that will allow you to unlock a PDF, which has the instructions for the final phase. The final phase has to be done at night, so you won’t get the code until 8:30 PM.
You have plenty of time to finish everything, and your friends are all here in this group to give you hints and cheer you along the way!

Xinqing and I met when we were both working together at McKinsey. She was my role model in many ways. I love how she has always been super self aware and good at self promotion. One of my favorite memories is how she created a Powerpoint deck with her "storyline" - “storyline” is, of course, us consultants' favorite term. She’s accomplished almost everything from that deck! However, on page two of the deck, there is a prediction that notably changed after she wrote it.

At the start of the COVID lockdown in Nairobi in 2020, everyone was very careful. Finally, after 3 months of not leaving the house myself and some friends decided to have a Covid safe getaway at a boutique hotel in Karen. That’s where I met Xinqing and our other close friends, Yi and Gwin for the first time! Xinqing especially impressed me with her patience when teaching people how to play Catan - she was relentless!

When Xinqing was about to leave Kenya to explore the next chapter of her life journey in France, she was a bit sad and I was the same too— I didn’t want her to leave. We went to a really nice restaurant in Nairobi, chatted about future plans, did some reading at a lovely garden. It was a really relaxing afternoon together.

Xinqing, my question for you is: what kind of food did we have at that restaurant?

When Xinqing and I lived together in Nairobi, during Covid, we worked out every day. I always talked about how I wanted a heavier weight to exercise with, so for my birthday she bought me a very heavy kettlebell. She could barely even lift it into the Uber!

I went home to China in September of last year and unfortunately I had to quarantine at a hotel for 2 weeks by myself. Xinqing had started her Podcast and asked if I was interested in doing an episode on traveling in the middle of the pandemic. Given I was (f)unemployed, had nothing else to do during quarantine and being on a Podcast sounded super fun, I joined her. Before I knew it, I was a regular!

Xinqing, my question for you is: what is the color of your favorite dog breed, that we talked about in Episode 4?

When we were both living in Nairobi Xinqing and I went on a retreat together. Every night we'd sit next to the fire, listen to guitar music and play spy games.

On our first trip with Xinqing we went to Morocco to celebrate Christmas with another couple from Sichuan, and it became the best trip ever. One of the best parts for Xinqing was the fruit! Morocco has lots of very cheap fruit. One type in particular was her favorite. She ate them non-stop even though, in Chinese culture, this fruit can upset the stomach if you eat too much. Apparently she has a fruit eating superpower!
